5.3.x Duplicate Meta - not so much a bug as a request for 5.3

Google flags duplicate meta tags on category pages. It can be a contributing factor to getting pages dumped into the supplemental index. I have no idea if anyone has found a quick fix for this yet or if one could be developed but it would be great if there was some additional data appended to the additional category pages to prevent the meta title and descriptions from being identical. I believe this is done now with the meta title, simply adding "category name page 2, meta description" "category name page 3," would be real helpful. If there are other ways of coding to make them even more unique that would be great.
It's the only minor, minor flaw in an otherwise excellent system.

To clarify this one, C is talking about category paging. So, leaving page 1 as is, and appending consecutive page meta titles with " - Page 2", " - Page 3", etc. |

Thanks for the suggestion. We'll see what we can do about this.

Marcus we trust your knowledge on how to best handle it. One thought would be to append the first products name to the meta description for each page along with the page number...it's enough that it shouldn't get treated as duplicate content.
No big deal, but something we are willing to test for you in a live environment as a case study.
