Compiling project with Web Reference in VS2008 PAINFULLY slow...

I'm using VS2008, and have a project with a web reference to Webservices3.asmx. When I build the project it takes about 20-30 minutes to build. In VS2005, this same project takes about 10 seconds.
Has anyone run into this? I've reviewed the asp.net forums, but haven't had much luck. There is a hotfix to address perfomance issues in VS2008, that came out the other day, however, this hasn't helped.

Found the answer.... hopefully this will save somone else some time.
Turn off create XML Documentation:
Double-click MyProject
Select Compile Tab
Deselect Generate XML documentation file

Thanks Eric.
Also make sure Generate Serialization Assembly is either Auto or Off (if Off then it will be generated at first use). |
