What is the best way for customer service to put through an order for a product that is not on the website. Currently, we have genenric items like this:

Sku: xxxx-xxxx

Product Name: New Product

So when customer service goes to the "New Order" in the admin they browse/search for the sku: xxxx-xxxx and add it to the order. But they only can change the price, not the product name. Is it possible to change the product name and or sku to reflect what new product the customer wants? This way when the order gets processed the customer doesnt see xxxx-xxxx New Product, but the actual product they are buying.

One way would to allow customer service to have access to the product database and add a new product, but thats not a path id like to go down. Any other ideas?

You could add Text Boxes that are required for Product Name and SKU that the customer has to enter to add the product to the cart.

This one's going on the BVC6 wish list.
Optimists invent airplanes,
Pessimists buy parachutes.
