Editing $ in shared modifier doesn't 'take', but looks correct on edit page

I entered a $ amount incorrectly in the shared modifier and went back to edit the amount. On the edit page, the old (incorrect) figure is added to the site price. A look at the shared modifier on the edit page shows the corrected amount is still in place.
Removing and re-applying the modifier to the product had no effect. A fresh computer (no cookies or history) shows the same wrong figure is being added. |

Anybody else notice this? Seems a shame to trash each choice and then re-build it. |
