Can someone please tell me if the New Product image is working on their BVC5 site? I can't get the image to show up on my site. I've been to Options Tab > Category link and the Flag products as "new" checkbox is checked. Is there an option in the admin to specify a path to the gif or jpg I would like to display as the new image? |

Here ya go... I had the same problem. The 'new' image is incredibly small. You can make your own and save it over the old one. http://forums.bvcommerce...54307&g=54318#m54318 |

Hmmmm....my NewProduct.png (buttons/misc) is in the correct place but still isn't showing up. The Category Template I'm using is "Grid With Subs". Could this have anything to do with it? I tried all category templates and none of them show the new image.
What a pain!

The image is not where the software is looking. BVC is looking for the image in [YourTheme]/images/buttons/Misc/NewProduct.png. IIRC. It's not there. I think it's stashed away in BVModules/themes/BVc5/images/buttons/Misc/ Here it is, if it uploads properly. I never have any luck doing this with non-images though... It doesn't show on my site either... but I haven't made attempt yet to figure out why.
Look at the code for the one of the Grid templates. The name of the new image is hard coded and may just be a path issue. |

Mitch, Check it out, my image is exactly where you say it should be. http://www.kastwayairsoft.com/BVModules/Themes/Kastway/images/buttons/Misc/NewProduct.png Yet it does not show up here: http://www.kastwayairsoft.com/Departments/New-Arrivals.aspx The first product was added a couple days ago. Once you click on the first product, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you'll see that the "new" images shows up for the cross-sell section. Doesn't make any sense! I have the latest version of BVC installed (SP3.2). |

The "NEW" isn't that at all, least not in Painted Paper Theme... See below: It's tiny, and I tried it on my site, just got in the way. about the only place I saw it was in the CrossSells area, and only then 'cause I took a 'float:left;' out of the container. I think the img was covering the "Broken Img" .gif, so I never even knew it was there. I had to get a screen grab for this to show up. The actual img is about 9 x 20px /WWW/BVModules/Themes/MissionFurnishings/Images/Buttons/Misc/ MitchA attached the following image(s): new-product-yellow.jpg (9kb) downloaded 58 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. I haven't seen any other BVC5 sites (to my knowledge). Is there a list of BVC5 sites I can look through? Not so much a bug as a little-used feature that fell out of favor, and support. There are a few relics in the code I'll bet. Like I said, I found the broken image gif by accident. The feature works in some places like related products, though not in categories that I've seen, and in other cases the paths aren't correct in the themes or backup; I feel like the paths have changed, too, because in some cases I've had them working and then they stopped showing up after an update. I often do custom product displays because I don't find the bundled ones very flexible, so I just make sure my paths are correct there. You can still see the new image on certain products like some of these, for example, so the feature itself does work. It just has to be called correctly. |
