I placed an order at a site and saw something I'd never seen before. I saw a message that said they'd saved my IP and ISP for security purposes.

Not to channel Jerry Seinfeld... but, What's with that?

That is cool. I think it helps them reduce fraud.
On the other side I thought storing and showing the CCV is illegal and I see they displayed it.

Corneliu.

CCV... yep, I think putting it on the confirmation page is a bad idea, if not against TOS.

I joined a web site the other day that is used by many managers in my trade to exchange ideas.

I was surprised when I logged back in a few days later to see my complete credit card number, expiration date, and billing details plainly visible on the "my account" page. I now suspect that my credit card number is not even being held encrypted in the database. To make matters worse, you stay logged in as long as your browser is open.

I plan on changing my CC number to a "TEST" credit card number and then closing my account.

I would like to report this web site to the appropriate credit card people, but not sure how to do it. Does anyone know?
