My 17 year old son received his pilot's licence today. 10 months of hard work.
Started July 12, 2007
Solo October 10, 2007 (still 16 - you can do that at 16. Amazing)
95% on his written test
60+ hours dual instruction
40+ hours written instruction
16 hours solo flight time
Dad's hours in the right seat... 0 :(
Now we need to figure out where to go..... |

Brian, me too.
He took me up for the first time yesterday. Just him and me. Oh my, am I so proud of him. He flies out of Morristown, NJ, the fourth largest airport in NJ - they take no prisoners. Radio work, navigation, GPS, weather - a lot to do. He gave me a greased landing that wouldn't have spilled a drop.
I almost want to buy him a plane..... Almost. |
