Hello, We are looking to hire a programmer to integrate a function to determine availability of FedEx Overnight Priority shipments to a particular Zip code on a particular date. ( for instance, many zip codes are not deliverable on Saturdays ) We've identified a FedEx web service which return this information and need help integrating this into BV, so a customer may validate a desired date before placing the order. Please contact Alex at 305 534 5678 during EST business hours or respond to [email protected] Thank you !

Give it a few days. We don't all look at the forum every day, and there's a holiday on the horizon. |

That could be a difficult one for most programmers -- and FedEx is always changing their API and software -- I would be happy just to be able to display time-in-transit for my customers. I can't tell you how many times a customer will select FedEx 2-day over Home Delivery when they don't need to. Today for example a customer chose 2-day -- that is Wednesday with the holiday. If they chose Home Delivery, it would have gotten there tomorrow (Saturday).
If you have any kind of volume at all, I would ask your FedEx rep to see if their technical guys can do it for you. You probably will have just as much luck there -- at least they will know their side of it. |

Thank you, Joe! Sorry for my anxiety, I've been trying to resolve this for awhile. Signed with FedEx developer site, they just suggest using their new web services platform and we do not have clear how to integrate this into BV My customer delivers perisheable Fresh Seafood. He can ONLY use Priority Overnight through his FedEx Ship Manager Software. Any mistakes and the product is lost, so its important to make sure this service is to a destination Zip on Saturdays. He is looking into allowing customers to validate their zip before selecting a product and placing the order. Here is an example: http://www.joesstonecrab.com/yourdoor/order_zip_date.html?pid=celebration&action=orderAlternative option: (validating DURING order placement) I believe FedEx must take into consideration the day of the week an order its placed to return the corresponding rate. Is it possible to pass on to Fedex a 'desired delivery date', instead as the actual date the order is being placed? And would it return an error is the zip code does not permit delivery on such date?? thank you for any suggestions, Happy Holidays ! :-)
