I installed BVC5 to replace my client's previous store site close to a month ago, but keep
getting a Paypal error. Since Paypal is the only payment option my client uses, he's basically
losing money right now and is pretty upset.

I spoke to someone (BVC professional support) who isolated the problem to being a server path issue.
I'd really like to get this fixed. Can someone help me out? I'd greatly appreciate it.

The store is live and can be found at www.fitandsharp.com. Thanks again...

Can you provide more information like the following:
1. When the user attempts to checkout through paypal, is he taken to the paypal page?
2. What paypal mode are you using? API, standard??
3. Assuming #1 works, after the user completes the required steps at the paypal website, the user will be directed back to the store. Is the user being directed back to the store?

I am trying to figure out where exactly is the failure hapenning?
Thanks,
Satya

1. No

It happens right after they click the paypal button. the redirect doesn't even happen.
2. How do I determine the mode? I'm using the built in functionality of the software.

Thanks for your help on this

I clicked on the PayPal button and went to PayPal just fine -- did you fix your issue?

Hello,

Go to BVAdmin -> Options - Payment -> Ensure that paypal express is checked. Then click the edit button. On the payment edit page ensure that you have all the required fields (Username, password, signature, etc) filled up. Click save and give it a try. There is no reason it should fail. If its still failing, check your event log and see if there are any errors being logged.
Thanks,

I'm also having a problem (looks like it's not related based on the error messages):

Server Error in '/' Application.
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.

Requested URL: /BVModules/Checkouts/Paypal Express Checkout/Closed.aspx

All of the checkout modules should be vanilla. This error happens after I select paypal in cart checkout, go to the paypal (sandbox) site, log in with a test account, and click "continue" on the confirm details page.

Has anyone seen this before? There is no Closed.aspx page in the "Paypal Express Checkout" directory, but I'm not sure where it's getting this filename from?

Thanks for any help,

Jake

My issue was I never generated the API signature.

If you do a search on pay pals help center for API Signature. You'll find information about how to get one.
