We have some items that are free shipping.

When using BVAdmin to place an order (company staff placing an order while on the phone with a customer), the cart returns:
Please Select a Shipping Method

and will not accept the order.

All hot fixes applied, site is new and up to date.

3 of us separately confirmed the problem.

Has anyone else seen or fixed this? Can the fix be in the next SP?

Is the order in question a "Free Shipping" method?

I encountered a problem yesterday. I'm not sure if it is related.

When I'm placing an order using the Admin --> Orders --> New Order option, the system requires me to select a shipping option on all items including non shipping items (I have to choose the non shipping option). This has been the case for a long time now. Since the last USPS postal rate increase our shipping rates are not calculated for shipments to Canada. So all orders to Canada are placed with zero shipping charge.

Yesterday I attempted to place a merchandise order to Canada from the Admin - New Order option. The shipping option available was "Shipping Cannot be Calculated" and it wouldn't accept that choice. It just hung there. I had to log in as the customer to complete the order (with no shipping charges of course).

The offending code that will not allow the new order to go through relates to the validation code in the .vb page. If you comment this out the new order will be allowed via the admin.

We've been having the same problem with placing international orders in bvadmin. the shipping total reads "contact store for details" and you cannot place the order because of a "select shipping method" error. i'll look into the vb code and see what's what.
