This error was appearing in my cart's Event Log:


Unable to connect to the remote server[ at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at BVModules_ContentBlocks_RSS_Feed_Viewer_view.RSSChannel.GetXMLDoc(String node) in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\HCC_ShoppingCart\BVModules\ContentBlocks\RSS Feed Viewer\view.ascx.vb:line 93 at BVModules_ContentBlocks_RSS_Feed_Viewer_view.RSSChannel.GetChannelItems() in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\HCC_ShoppingCart\BVModules\ContentBlocks\RSS Feed Viewer\view.ascx.vb:line 123 ]



Customers were complaining about valid credit cards not being authorized and we were unable to capture authorized transactions for a window of time which seems to coincide with when this error appears in the event log. We deal with authorize.net. Anyone out there able to shed some light on what all this might mean. Thanks in advance.

what was a timeframe for when you saw this error? I haven't had any issues with Auth.net over the past few days. Are you sure those cards were actually valid? I can't tell you how many times customers THINK their cards are valid, only to find out their billing address is different, they didn't enter the correct CVV, etc.

The timeframe was 8/27/2008 between 6:30am and 7:45am HST. The card number and info was definetly valid because the same info was used to place the order later on that day (we have absolute verification that the same info was used). We also had trouble with capturing during this period. Several orders failed to capture during this timeframe and were successfully captured later that day without any changes made.

I have no error messages like that during that timeframe -- but I have no orders during that timeframe either so I can't confirm if that was indeed a problem.
