Hi All,

New to this forum and would really appreciate all help.

We are manually updating the QuantityAvailable of table db ([2]bvc_productInventory) with an external program (SSIS) at the end of the day after sales have been made from our website + retail store to capture all sales and new receipts (purchases), if any, of the stock items.[/2]

This works well. However, we notice that a couple of hours after this the QuantityAvailable changes "by its own" - often more than the quantity sold. We matched up with qtys on bvc_Order and bvc_LineItem.

This results in some items being shown as out of stock even when we have them and have not sold.

Note some settings:

We have checked all items have a reserved quantity of 0 as at now.

On Options -> Inventory: the items are reserved at "Order Saved".

there is no auto-job/task - that we have created related to inventory.

On Settings -> Orders: carts are set to be cleared out after 2 days.

Is there an inbuilt stored procedure that is updating the quantities that I need to turn off or disable?

I have attached two screenshots that I hope are helpful.

Thanks!!

What version of BV are you using? That look and the Settings Tab is not something I have seen yet.

I don't think you can set inventory manually -- there are two database tables that are involved with Product Inventory and until you actually open EACH product in the Admin screen and make a change to the Inventory Page is it written to the second table and officially becomes an active product.

Let me explain the issue a little better.

We have a website and a retail store (brick) and about 15,000+ skus.

Scenario:
Yesterday, we had 30 of item 345678, 2 are sold at the brick store, 16 on web.
At the end of day, we download all the web sales into our erp, capture all the sales from brick store into erp also, post batch etc.
So actual available qty (Physical stock available for sale) is now (30 - 2 -16) = 12.
Next morning - We use a SSIS/DTS package to update the QuantityAvailable for ths item (and all others) on the bvc_ProductInventory table.
QuantityAvailble for item 345678 is now 12 on bvc_ProductInventory.

Problem:
After about 3 hours, the QuantityAvailble for item 345678 (or any other) changes to something different and lower than 12, even though there is no new order for that item, it is not listed on any saved carts, reserved quanttity is zero (0), etc.

This sometimes stops customers from purchasing desired quantity or even turns the item off if the "new" quantity is now lower than (or equal to) the OutofStockPoint.

So my question is : what job/task/service or stored procedure is changing these quantities.

Thanks for all help

Admin --> Options --> Site Settings --> Inventory. Do you have Reserve Inventory on: set to Order Saved? If not, your inventory is moving into shopping carts and will stay there until the shopping cart is cleared.

The Reserve Inventory is already set to Order Saved - see my attached file "bv_Options.bmp"

godwin,
Your problem is that the 6 orders that are online don't reduce the quantity available until they are actually shipped.
Until that moment the quantity available is still 30 (-2 the ones from the retail store).
Only when you ship the items the reserved goes to zero and the available gets reduced.
What you need is either to ship the items before you fix the quantity or add the value of the reserved to the available quantity when you update.
I was caught in the same issue when I've integrated with my accounting (www.saasu.com)
