Hi
I have finally uploaded my store to my remote server, I had to use a ftp prog to do this as the site manager just wouldnt work. I cannot access the login page...I am getting the following error
the website declined to show this page..most likely cause the website requires you to log in
any ideas please, I dont have much hair left :smile:

Looks to be a permission issue. Can you give us the exact error? Alternatively, send us your website URL. |

i have managed to correct this error and i am now having another problem..the store launches to the bv admin login page..user name: admin password: password these wont work..says login incorrect please try again, any suggestions?

Well admin/password are the correct default username/password combination. Did you change the password?
There are two things you can do now. 1. Delete your database and upload the stock database to your SQL Server. Then you should be able to login with admin/password OR 2. You will need to create another standard user account. Then go to your database and add a row to a table.
Let me know which way you want to go. If you decide to go with the second option, write back and I can post the exact SQL statements that you will need to run to make that user account an admin. |

I didnt make myself very clear in my post..I have installed the 30 day trial version of the software..I used the site manager to upload my files cant progress any further than the login page..details incorrect

As I understand, you used an external ftp program to upload the files from your local machine to the remote server. Now what did you do about the SQL Server database? Did you create a database also on the remote server? If not, which database is your website (on the remote server) going to connect to? |

I did in the beginning use a external ftp program to upload the files to my server..after endless problems i had a long discussion with my provider......i am now able to use the in built site manger provided with the bv5 trial..i have uploades the files using this programe..i also created an external SQL server db..when the sitem nager opens to admin i cant login due to incorrect user name and password

Try opening your SQL database and reading what the admin login info is |
