For some reason, I get a 404 error when adding a rewrite URL without the .aspx extension. It was working fine but I am not sure what happened...can't figure it out. With the .aspx extension, rewrite URL works normally.

That's how IIS 6 works. Without the .aspx extension IIS never hands the request off to ASP.NET, so the rewrite never happens. You can do extension-less rewritting with an ISAPI filter like ASAPI Rewrite , but you will need to manage your URL's outside of the BV admin. I believe IIS 7, which comes with Windows Server 2008, allows you to set ASP.NET to process extension-less requests.
