Just wondering if there is a simple way to add a payment method that would collect credit information? I would like to add a layaway option, so I need it to still collect credit card information.

Payment processors are modular, just like everything else. It would not be difficult to modify an existing processor to retrieve the information without charging anything. You may want to look into PCI compliance on this idea though. Your customers will need to warned in advance that you are going to keep that credit card information for a length of time. |
