Using the new CreateNewStore.exe program to install BVC5.4. There is a new "Install Source Code and Visual Studio Project Files" option.

I've installed 2 test sites, one with, and one without, this option checked. The only difference I can see is that "Install Source Code and Visual Studio Project Files" installs to a www subfolder.

I did a search on all files in both the on both my test sites, and they both have 2,107 objects. I've also looked in My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\WebSites (and the VS 2008 location) too, and neither of them have any Project Files there.

So, can somebody let us know what "Install Source Code and Visual Studio Project Files" does? Thanks!

When not selected only the web site files are installed. They are installed directly to the folder you specify.

When "install source" is selected the source code for both the web site AND the DLL projects are installed in sub folders of the destination you select. This structure makes it much easier to open the Visual Studio project and get started as it matches the structure we use in development.

If you don't plan on customizing the core source code using Visual Studio there is no need to install the source code.
