hey all, need you to help me determine something (please!).

If you have an item on your site that is deactivated, can you verify whether or not you can still access the item via direct link/URL?

Matt,
I just tried to view a disabled product on one of our BV sites and I was sent to the error page. This is the intended behavior, I believe. The site I use is using the URL rewriter. Hope that helps...

No, I am unable to access it when it is deactivated.

A side note that may be of interest:
If you have inventory tracking and set to "hide" when out of stock, you can still view or search for the item, bit it does not show up on a category page.

I use "deactivate" for the permanently discontinued items, but the inventory "hide" for temporarily discontinued items, or for items that we want to keep benefit from the indexed pages.

Bump. Sorry Joe! need to confirm if this is a version issue and whether or not it can be fixed with a patch rather than upgrading.

We're on BV5 3.2.
