Problem with file downloads - "The file to download could not be found" error.

We are using BV 5.4 and the file vault doesn't seem to be working properly. When I place a file in the files directory and click on " Import Files Already In "Files" Folder", the song appears in the list.
On a product page, when I attempt to attach the download to a product, I am able to choose the song from the list of files that have already been uploaded. Once the file has been added, it appears below with a delete button and download button next to it.
Up until this point everything seems to have worked fine. However, when I click on the download button, I get the error message: "The file to download could not be found." Likewise, after making a purchase and clicking on the download button on the receipt under My Account, the same error message appears.
Any ideas as to what the problem could be.

Could be windows permissions problems. If the ASPNET account and IIS guest account don't have permissions to read the files they won't appear to exist.
Check the files folder and make sure that the file was renamed from File.htm to bvin_file.htm.config where "File.htm" is the name of your file and "bvin" is a 36 character long unique identifier for the file.

Thanks, Marcus, for the quick response. We think we have figured out that the problem is not with BV, but with file replication from our master server. Any changes we make through the BV admin are getting overwritten by the file replication software. Too bad there is not a simple way to have the files added to a different location. Thanks again.
