During my testing of BV5 I've run into another stumper...

I created a shared choice. It's an "Image Radio Button List".

I applied it to a test product then went to the site to test it.

The three "swatches" that I created show up, but even when I choose one of them adn try to add the product to my cart, I keep getting the warning: "field required".

What gives? Is this a bug? I've searched the forum and didn't find anything on this.

ARRGGHH!!! I thought maybe it was a bug with it being a shared choice but it doesn't work if I set it up as a one-off on a product either.

Click on a material in the "choose material" section and then add to cart and I get the Field Required error.

Well, it looks like the "value" of the radio buttons is empty, so that is why the required field validator is tripping no matter what you choose. Did you select "null item" for each of the choices? If so, un-check them.

When you get this sorted out, you might wish to add text next to the image.

Marcus told me it's a bug that will be fixed in 5.5...
