Very strange.. Our email was working fine this morning. Emails were coming in from orders. And then it just stopped Mail server just stopped working..

Here is the error log I am seeing in BVC5

Failure sending mail.[ at System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient.Send(MailMessage message) at BVSoftware.Bvc5.Core.Utilities.MailServices.SendMail(MailMessage m, Boolean async) in c:\source\CommerceMain\WebApp\source\BVSoftware.Bvc5.Core\Utilities\MailServices.vb:line 40 ]

Does SMTP need to be enabled on the server if I am using an external SMTP Server? We use external services.

We are using GoDaddy
smtpout.secureserver.net
Use Basic SMTP Authentication (Yes)
Username
Password
Use SSL for SMTP (No)
Port 25

I need a way to get this resolved. We have orders coming in, but customers are not getting order confirmations and we are not able to send shipping details. Help! Why is everything so complicated these days? I know we will get this resolved, but right now I am not sure how. We are only seeing one error. If anyone knows of other logs to look at.

1. We have check firewall setting and logs

2. We removed the virus software (MacAfee Enterprise)

3. We have check IIS logs

4. We see the one error in the BVC5 Error logs (Error shown in above)

5. We were able to setup and send mail via Outlook Express on the 2003 Windows server via both of our SMTP Servers. (Both SMTP Servers are off site at web.com and godaddy.com)
We used port 25. We tried other ports 80, 587, 3535, Etc. Everything is working from Outlook express on the same server. We can send and receive from outlook express.

Marcus, do you know of any tools that can help trace the issue through the system? We Need some help.

smtpout.secureserver.net

We got the service working. We are not sure of the exact fix. Marcus helped to point out that we had an @ sign in the [email protected]
On Wednesday when we were testing that was not the case. We had the right smtpout.secureserver.net format. I had screens shots that documented the error and the right format.

Today the error has gone away. Hopefully it will never come back.
BVC5 uses the standard mail classes. There is nothing unique complex going on.

Maybe it was Godddy and Web.com ... I am done with the technical stuff for a few days. Back to selling and promoting.

We removed MacAfee Enterprise 8 (Maybe that was the cause)
We will try to reinstall that next week.

Cheers. Thank you everyone for your help.
