I have some customer's who use IE8. When they go to a product page, they get this error when adding to the cart:

Now, I tried it in compatibility mode and it works just fine. However, my customer's may not realize that they have to do this. I also put this below in my master pages, but it doesnt work either

Code:

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7">
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7"/>

So what can i do? Im missing out on quite a bit of customer's because of this.

Did you make sure the meta tags are the very first tag after the opening <head> tag? Apparently, IE8 only recognizes the meta tag if it is the first one.
