I want to assign some products as Non-shipping, yet I want to assign a carrier (FedEx,USPS, etc.) so that I have a "package" to add a tracking number to. I can set a Free Shipping Offer on the product, but the problem is that it still displays ALL shipping methods (Priority Mail, Ground, 2-Day, etc.) all as $0.00 -- I don't want the customer to have a choice. |

You might be able to use the Shipping Rate Rule Providers from Structured Solutions (Andy Miller) to solve this problem. What you could do is create a type property (not visible on the front end) that you then use to flag products that you want to handle different. Then with the Shipping Rate Rule Providers, create a packaging rule to put all products with this flag into a separate package. Then you would ship that package via your free shipping method (it could even be a hidden shipping method). |

I thought of that -- I may just make it a non-shipping product -- that is the easiest solution -- I just have to assign a carrier and tracking provider in Shipper (or create a package manually). |
