Is there a way to set up a product so that shipping costs are based on two (or more) packages? |

No. We just went through this with another client, and even using the all-powerful Shipping Rate Rule Providers you still can't do it. The problem is that this concept is not built into BV. I would love to see this added in the future. The only real solution is to use kitting, but that may not work for you. You can certainly implement more intelligent rate approximation using the extra ship fee, summing the weight and dimensions of the individual boxes, or some other technique using the Shipping Rate Rule Providers (e.g. hidden type property that has a rate multiplier). |

Thanks Aaron -- I thought maybe you could add a package using Upsell -- but you can't automatically do that. |
