about 1 - 4 times a month my customer service department gets a customer that can't checkout on our website. They say the half of the "Keep Shopping" button is missing and there is no "Checkout" Button. I have instructed customer service to get the customer's Browser name and what OS they are running. Most of the time the customer doesnt know. So i went in on my stats and checked during the time the customer said they were browsing, checked what browsing and OS were on our site and tested each one and have still not been able to duplicate this problem.
At first I thought it was CSS or javascript based... but a few customer's said they were using IE7 on Vista and or XP. I tested my site with JS off and it works fine. Nothing measures up. Any ideas?

Hey Bryan -
Any chance you have a set height on a container within the checkout page? My initial thought was that perhaps the user has a higher DPI setting (causing the text to be larger) which would lengthen the page content causing it to possibly 'lop-off' the extra info that was beyond the max-height. Probably not the case, but just a thought.

Some web browsers will scale the entire page, including height dimensions and images. Other web browsers simple make the text larger which can push items off screen and have strange resizing effects as shown in your screenshot.
Thankfully, it looks like all the major browsers are standardizing on "zoom" which scales the whole page with optional "text size" settings too.
In the end it depends on what measurement units you use in your CSS file and which browser is being used to render the site. Welcome to the wonderful world of web design in 2009 :-)
