Hi,
I am trying to implement Create New Account upon the Checkout process. I mean if user is not logged in and he doesn't have any account and when he clicks Place order, at backend a new user is created and that order is added in his account. The session should also be created for him (as he is logged in).
Do I have to do something at workflow level to implement this? If someone has already done this, please share their knowledge.

Aaron,
I need not to have user interact to create the account on checkout. Where user enters e-mail and shipping address that e-mail is used to create the account with random password and that is e-mail to him upon "Place Order" button.
Is this possible to do this step through WorkFlow?

We thought about doing it that way but in the end decided that it wasn't ideal from a user experience standpoint. Our thinking was that creating a random password pretty much guarantees that the customer will not know their password when they come back to the site and will need to perform a password reset.
No, there is nothing in the workflow that will make it work this way. |
