:freaked: When I go to refund order in BVC5 the Credit Card information is gone. How do I refund the order without the credit card information?

How do I see the credit card information (After a certain amount of time the credit card information goes away)

Crazyness.. Do I need to manually write down every credit card number?

Ideas? Thank you.

The credit card numbers are automatically purged from the database every X days based on the value of "Cleanup Orders Older Than" on the Orders setting page (/BVAdmin/Configuration/Orders.aspx).

"How do I refund the order without the credit card information?"

I have configured my store to wipe out the number in 1 day to limit my exposure should someone hack into my database. Then I use the Authorize.Net virtual terminal to issue refunds.

"Do I need to manually write down every credit card number?"

I look up the original transaction using Authorize.Net's search function, and then click on the Refund button. I don't need the credit card number at all.

You don't even need Auth.net's terminal to issue a refund -- find the order and there is a button to issue a refund, and you can choose the amount, issue a message to the customer by email -- works fine.

Everyone - Thank you for the ideas and suggestions. Very helpful.

Thank you Arron. I will extend the number of days from 7 to 45. This will give us some extra time to provide refund if needed. I would like to keep our admin users in the BVC5 tool if possible. History stays in one place, users only need one login, etc. Much cleaner.

Thank you agian. Hopefully this resolves 98% of the issues.
