PayPal Express requires shipping confirmation for non-shipping items. *PLEASE HELP

Firsly, thanks for eveyone's help!!!
I am noticing that when processing an order using PayPal Express that you are routed to PayPal's site for checkout (which is correct) and then sent back to BV to complete the order BUT you are forced to choose a shipping option for Non-shipping products.
It's not a huge thing as the value is zero and it just has to be selected to complete the order however I am noticing that occasionally (and I haven't nailed it down yet) if you click to complete the order without selecting the shipping method it give there error message that a shipping method must be selected BUT once you do and try to process order again it says "this order have already been taken or your cart is empty" even though the order has not yet really been taken. So now the cart is cleared and the user has to re-do their order.
Just wondering is thing is supposed to function this way?

Hi. For orders with all non-shipping products using Paypal Express from the Cart, on return you will get a zero rate which must be selected by the user in order to proceed.
This is not likely to be too much of a problem, as they aren't bothered by clicking on an option that costs nothing. However, the message "To be Determined. Contact Store for details" is a bit misleading because it implies that the rate still needs to be determined and it doesn't. Probably better is have no rates or shipping info at all.
Another area that could be improved is not requiring shipping info within the Paypal site itself. Currently this isn't supported in BVC 5.6.
Thanks for the observation, I will issue a request for a change.
In reference to your "UPDATE", the cart should be empty after you return from Paypal and hit checkout, as it has been converted to an order and processed. |
