Need Advice Moving Data from BV2004 to BV5.6

We've recently purchased and installed the BV5.6 store for our client and need to migrate their data from their BV2004 store. (We have no experience with BVSoftware's ecommerce software, but have found it easy to install and configure.) Their BV2004 store is currently hosted with another hosting company. The hosting company has provided us with the BV2004 store files and the backup file of their database. Can anyone recommend a solution to migrate the data from their BV2004 store to BV 5.6 store. Someone suggested I obtain and install the software for a BV2004 store and try to restore the backup database into it. Then run the migration tool provided by BVSoftware. In order to do that I need to obtain the software for the BV2004 store. Can someone from BVSoftware provide that?

BV has a tool for migrating from BVC 2004.7 to version 5.5: http://forums.bvcommerce...lt.aspx?f=84&m=62490You will probably want to download 5.5 and set it up before migrating your 2004.7 store. Then you can upgrade to 5.6 from there. If your 2004 store is below version 2004.7, you will probably need to update it first by applying service packs: http://forums.bvcommerce.com/default.aspx?f=32 |
