I see that there is a minimum qty in the product build screen. How would I go about setting up box qty, with out changing the product description to box qty. For google product search and other pricing tools it is important to have unit prices. But I need to set a minimum qty to 10 and also have box qty or 10.
Example, Customers can only order 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, etc.... all the way to 10,000.
Ideas?
Would be a great feature in future versions of BVC. Just putting it out there.
I know this is a strech. Thank you.

OK, I've read this like 5 times and I think I finally understand your issue. You've set the product up as a single unit but it can only be purchased in groups (boxes) of 10. So using the minimum qty field prevents people from ordering less than 10 but it doesn't prevent them from buying 11. Is that correct?
Out-of-the-box there is no way to do this. Probably the easiest way to do this is to create a new product template that has a custom validator on the qty field that understands this logic. The more elegant (and much more time-consuming) way to handle this would be to extend the product object to have another field: box qty (or whatever you want to call it) and then add the necessary validation logic throughout the application. |

This is a common product setup for the "Favors" market & Personalized Stationery.
The safest thing to do is set the product as a Pack of 10 and price it accordingly. So if customer wants 50, they order QTY 5.
However, this does price you out of the market (like dmc said) as it sets the product price to 10 items as opposed to 1, which is what always wins the sale (Priced per Unit).
I mentioned this for a Feature Enhancements for BV6. Incremental Quantity Ordering. |
