I have noticed over the past week or so that I have been getting complaints about the final step of the ordering process taking an exceeding long amount of time. I just ran a test order (that I used a coupon/promo code on to set the value to zero...to eliminate the credit card gateway side of things) and from when I clicked the place order it took 45 seconds to 1 minute. Then the second time it took the same amount of time but never presented the receipt page it went straight back to the home page????
Has anyone seen this?

I've never seen that. The CC gateway was my first thought, but since you've eliminated that, I'm not sure what could be causing it. Do you have any custom code on the receipt page? What about JavaScript conversion tracking for third parties (or perhaps a survey)? |

What does the audit log show the second time for the error? What happens if you don't use the cc gateway but checkout by paying by check or telephone? |
