Has anyone else used this Offer successfully? The reason I ask is below.


We have experienced serious problems when trying to use the Free Promo by Amount offer. basically it broke our live site and we had to have Aaron with Develisys fix and get our site back up. The live site is running BVC 5.6 with patches and updates. We tried a test on our local test machine today using <SPAN id=ctl00_Header1_lblVersion>BV Commerce 5.7.4.14 and it did the same thing. I had to go into our database and delete the entries in the <SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">bvc_Offers table and <SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: 'Courier New'; FONT-SIZE: 10pt; mso-fareast-font-family: Calibri; mso-fareast-theme-font: minor-latin; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">bvc_ComponentSetting table to regain access to our test site.

The steps we took when setting the offer up:

1. Named it
2. Dated it
3. When the order total is at least (set to $125.00)
4. Selected a Product (Free Item for customer to recieve after they reached specified dollar amount)
5. Left everthing else as its showing.
6. Clicked save

Went to the front side chose item totaling $130.00, then clicked on out cart link on our test store 5.7.4.14 version and it went down. Could not get into the front side or admin side. Thats when I emptied the two database tables listed above to regain access. Like I said this happened originally on our live site ruunning 5.6 version.

I have searched the forums but have not found any postings on this. This needs to be tested out but not on a live site, just on a local machine with access to the database.

Richard,

Yes, please post any additional details you have on this issue. This is the first report we've received.

Also, it sounds like you have upgraded your store along the way. Can you confirm that this issue occurs on a clean install of 5.7.4 without any customizations?

Marcus our live site is running 5.6 with all of the patches and updates.


The Test Store running on our local machine is a clean install of 5.74 with nothing done to it.



I will post a bug report.
