Newbie Problem:
Although I have or believe I have followed the installation procedure for 5.5 I am unable to bring the site up in a browser after installation. I have been following the instructions for creating a new site on a remote server.
In essence, I am trying to upgrade from my ancient Storefront 5 store hosted with Applied Innovations.
Questions:
1. I am uploading via FTP (per BV instructions) but have not removed any Storefront "stuff". Are there Storefront related items that I need to disable or remove in order to do this?
2. I have a test domain that I am using for this project. That test site is NOT registered. Does that matter for testing purposes?
Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure your web.config file has the correct values for things like database connection and encryption key folder.
