When I go to Inventory Edit, some products include the product variation names in the "Name" field. In other words, it will display the name of the product, the color, then the size. Other products will only display the name. The only way to differentiate between the rows in this case is the SKU which makes it very difficult to know exactly which variation I'm editing. Does anyone know what might cause this difference? I'm pretty sure the product variations are set up the same on both products.
Thanks!

Are you sure the choices and modifiers for that product have a Name and Display Name specified? |

Sorry, lost track of this issue.
Yes, the choices are set up identically as far as I can tell. They have both a Name and Display Name specified. This really has me stumped.
Thanks, Jack

Here's an example of what I'm talking about: Here's the normal one: This one has no variations listed in the description: Jack

I'm not sure where this text comes from, but if it's coming from the product name, have you verified the product name for each variation? |

...So embarrassing!
My client entered the choice details into each product variation as he created them. That explains the discrepancy.
Is there any way to set this up so that when editing inventory there is some way to determine which variation is which other than by SKU?
This is actually a huge step back in usability since it was MUCH easier to do in BV4!
We're open to custom programming...
Thanks, Jack

You should be able to do this with a little development work. It should not be terribly difficult. |
