Checkout page not calculating the shipping

Hi,
Was wondering if anyone can help me or point me in the right direction.
When an item is clicked it sends the customer to the cart page which has the product and shipping options.
After the customer select the shipping option they are sent to the final checkout page, with payement info.
On this page the total doesnt seem to be the same. The shipping selected from the previous page does not show up after COOKIES are deleted and the same process is carried out again.
E.g.
1. delete cookies
2. add item to cart and redirected to cart
3. select shipping from above page and click proceed.
4. final page/payment page
this is when the shipping doesnt show up even though it was selected.
Any help will be appreciated.

Is the customer initially selecting the shipping method on the cart page or a page in checkout? Which checkout are you using, the one-page checkout or multi-page checkout? Are there any customizations to your cart or checkout process? |

Hi Aaron,
Yes, the customer is initially selecting a shipping. and using one-page checkout.
It only happens after deleting cookies and clearing history
