Is it possible to run a test purchase so that I can confirm that the emails regarding new orders are properly sent out? If not I would like to request this function for BV 6.

Yes, I do this often. Just make sure your email settings are correct in the Options area and you should be able to place test orders fine. I usually just enter in a fake Visa number like 4111-1111-1111-1111 using the test Gateway.
