I've always been told, don't alert your customer's with negative things. I found this from Crutchfield.com, which is a well known company. They're letting their customer's know on the front end about "grey market" dealers and warranties. In our industry, we have tons of non-authorized dealers selling products. What do you think about it? http://www.crutchfield.c...tor-60-Black.html?tp=185

From my marketing classes. Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt - FUD. Never introduce a reason to think about this stuff while the shopper is making a buying decision. Doubt breeds fear, and fear kills the sale.
I'm with you on this. I'd put this on a separate page in more subtle language. |

Bryan,
Perhaps you should elaborate on what it means to be an authorized dealer and how that benefits the customer. If it's compelling, it should convince the customer that this is a requirement for their purchase and cause them to ask if the other stores they're considering are authorized dealers. |

I've been flashing memories of Nixon proclaiming "I am NOT a crook" all weekend.
Classic reporter's trap: "So senator, when did you stop beating your wife?"
Always keep the message positive - and SHORT. Tell your positives, not their negatives. A bullet list like:
Factory warranty, Latest model, Free phone support, etc.
A paragraph of elaboration can follow for legal reasons, but few will read it. (When was the last time you read an ingredient list or a 'terms and conditions' page?) |
