Send manufacturer Drop-ship email but ship from store

I need to send a mfg notification to my manufacturer when a particular product is sold, but they ship to me so I can ship from my store. So I need to select Shipping Mode: Drop Ship From Manufacturer. I understand this will mess up my shipping rates since it uses the manufacturer's address.
Should I just change the manufacturer's address to the store address? I assume the system will still treat this item as a Ship Separate item like it would for drop-shipping, right?

However, my guess is that it would treat any items coming from that manufacturer as a separate package, even if the address was the same as the store. I think the best way to solve this problem is to create a custom workflow step. This step could pretty much be identical to the current "Run All Dropship Notifications" workflow step except that it would email a manufacturer even when not drop shipping. It would be your call whether it would email any manufacturer (that has an email address) or just a particular one. |
