I have the new 2013 version. I have tried multiple ways to get it to run. I tried to copy my current and then upgrade. I have tried to do a clean install. I have tried using the current database and I have tried to use a new database. I have added users, removed users, etc.
I can't get the SQL Patch to trigger. It keeps telling me that the username and password are incorrect no matter what I use. It doesn't matter if I try to start from Default, Login, or the Patch page. I get the same thing...
Any help please?

Jennifer, As a starting point, have you reviewed the fresh install and upgrade documentation? Your goal is to upgrade an existing site, right? If so, what version is your current site? |

I have tried both. I have the instructions for both. I am currently running 5.8. I did the upgrade to that one previously and had the same problem but fixed it with a user change in the connection string.
I need to do this as a clean install so that I can compare and then merge with our current.
I can't get it to do either. I have cleaned everything out and I am going to start over with a clean install. It seems to be a problem with the user id and password in the connection string. Is there a specific username and password am I supposed to be using because it doesn't seem to take any of them?

If you're unsure of your connection string you will need to consult your ISP or IT department. That's not something that would know or could help you with. What version of SQL Server are you using? |

I am the IT department. I am the IT Director. I am using SQL 2008 R2. I have the connection string. I have put in different users, I even included myself which is a full admin account. No matter what I put in the web.config connection string I get the same error. As I said I have done this with the 5.8 version previously so I am familiar with how it works. I have even had this error before but nothing was working when I tried it last.
I will rebuild again from the SQL scripts to see if I can get it go this time.

What error are you getting? Can you post a screenshot of it?
Also, make sure that you have set modify permissions on the website folder. |
