I think i already know the answer but i would like to ask anyway. I would like to do a local install on a laptop running Windows 8.1. Is this possible? If so what additional software would be needed? Thanks in advance. John

Yes, this is possible. You will need to install SQL Server for the database and use either IIS or Visual Studio for the web server. You can download free versions of SQL Server and Visual Studio. |

There are tons of resources at your disposal on the web. If you use Visual Studio, all you should need to do is download BVC from your account, open the Visual Studio solution file, change the connection string in the Web.config file to your local SQL Server install, and then run the website. Below is our documentation for a fresh install on a typical web server (steps #3 and 4 are not applicable if you're running BVC from Visual Studio): http://www.bvcommerce.co...nstallation-instructions |
