I have a category which will be discontinued
/Departments/my-category.aspx
I wish to return a 410 Gone response from the server. Whats the best way of going about this without resorting to URL Rewrite (which is not installed). BV commerce version 5.8

The first thought that comes to mind is creating a new category template. Then in the code-behind of the new template you can set the status code of the request to 410. Going forward you can assign this template to any discontinued category. |

Excellent idea Aaron thank you, I went down the path of thinking about url redirection to the default 410 error page but this will do just fine. As for 5.8 they want to keep the old Url structure. Edited by user Thursday, August 27, 2015 6:28:04 AM(UTC)
