Aaron
Is there any plans to add this functionality for the next release?

It's been on our list for some time. There's a good chance that it will make it into the next major release. Some database structure changes are required, which is part of the reason that we've pushed it back. |

Oh that sounds interesting.
When I implemented a custom Faceted Search I created a Faceted Search Table, a Faceted Search Options table and linked Faceted Search Table via the Category. I could then selected the Faceted Search Options in the product page via a control based upon its category.
This performed really well considering the extra database round trip, Might be worth looking into if you don’t want to change the schema to much?
However if you are changing the structure can you please incorporate the use of xml columns instead of ntext? That would make the custom/address fields a little easier to query.

We will most likely use Type Properties for faceting rather than creating an entirely new construct.
