There are two types of products in my catalog, sized and non-sized. Sized products have variants for each size (2-5 for each). There are no other variants. Within the DB there is one ProductChoice, and 2-5 Product options for each parent product. The Product pages for Sized items take upward of 10 seconds, but the un-size products load almost instantly ( <1 sec). The site is here: http://www.giftstogo.com if you would like to check out the issue on a live site. This can't be the intended functionality, but I can't find where the bottle neck is. Thank you in advance.

Looking at the product page linked below it is definitely quite slow. This is not a known problem, even for an older version like 5.8. My guess is that there is something wrong with your product template or your site has some custom code that is slowing things down. http://www.giftstogo.com...--CHARCOAL__SHBM01C.aspx |

Yeah -- if the previous developer hadn't overwritten the Admin "Change Template" page with the Edit User page, I'd switch the template and find out.
Another notion -- the site utilizes "Anthem" for an Ajax cart. I don't think this is related, but thought I'd mention it.
I'm moving on to profiling to see if I can locate the bottle-neck. Thanks for you response.

After profiling, there's nothing that jumps out at me. The product template takes ~ 10% more time to load (as do many of the functions) when viewing a sized product.
I was able to switch the theme manually, and that doesn't seem to be the issue.
I'm starting to find "filename.vb.20151213" type files allover the place (the previous dev didn't believe in Versioning), so something in Core certianly could have been nocked out of whack.
I suppose there's no place to get the core files for version 5.8, is there?

If possible could you download the database and create a test environment? That way you can hook Visual Studio to it and step though in order to see what’s going on? If the core has been changed hopefully the previous dev left behind the source project?
