BVC 5 - Getting Started

Now that we’ve defined the proper requirements for installing and running BVC 5, we’ll now look at setting up your first store. We’ll also look at deploying your web site to a live server, upgrading your site from previous editions of BV Commerce and problems that you may encounter along the way with these processes.

Before moving forward, make sure you’ve checked that your computer has the necessary requirements as explained in the requirements section. Not having the proper requirements can cause unexpected results or errors.

Installing BVC 5

After downloading BVC 5 to a location on your local computer, double click the “Setup.exe” file.

Running this file will begin the installation process for BVC 5. If you receive an error when executing this file, it’s likely that your system does meet the minimum requirements.

The BVC 5 installer will notify you if you’re missing one of the required components necessary for installing BVC 5 (ex: .NET Framework). It will then present you with the option of downloading and installing the .NET Framework. Once the installation process is complete, you will then have the ability to continue the BVC 5 installation.
