I am just about to do a test upgrade from 5.6 to 5.7.1. I have done a lot of customization to a quite number of files in my existing site.

Am I ok to JUST upload the "newly added" and "changed files" and leave all others as they were?

Thanks,
d.

There is a list of changed files here.

If you made copies of any and stuck them in other places you would have to consider those as well.

Always, best to do it on a test (staging) server first with a copy of the database just to make sure all goes well.
Live site is pretty scary for such aggressive action. My opinion of course.

Thanks Kim,

Yes, I will be doing this on a staging server (and have the list of changed files) but just wanted to make sure I am ok to only replace the changed files as well as upload the new ones.

Thanks,
d.
